This charming golden stone holiday cottage dates back to the 17th century and provides the perfect romantic hideaway, with idyllic views from its elevated position high on the Cotswold escarpment. Dryhill Cottage is super dog-friendly, situated in the heart of the countryside, and offers luxurious tranquillity in a unique rural setting.
It houses an English oak and glass kitchen diner and a sitting room which enjoys a spectacular panorama over its own vineyard. This spacious room opens onto a large patio for outside dining. The master bedroom features a super king-sized bed with a separate contemporary shower room.
The lounge area has an inset wood burning stove to keep you warm and cosy, even on the coldest nights. This sizeable airy space has two extensive sofas, one of which converts into a high-quality double bed (by Willow & Hall) to ensure a really good night’s sleep. Oak bi-fold doors allow access to the patio area for breakfast with a view: this large outdoor space houses an Urban Cedar hot tub and Weber charcoal barbeque.
The cottage garden is mostly laid to lawn and is enclosed with a dog-proof fence and hedging to allow added privacy. The garden has direct access to the meadow below along neatly cut pathways, as well as to the vineyard and spring-fed lake.
Dryhill Cottage has a secluded location but is just a minute’s walk from The Cotswold Way, operated by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust at Crickley Hill Country Park. Cheltenham Spa, a historic Regency town, is less than 5 miles away and is famed for its retail therapy options and many great restaurants, bars and coffee shops. This holiday cottage is also an excellent base to explore the classic villages and market towns of The Cotswolds with its many tourist attractions.
