Welcome to Dryhill!

This idyllic Cotswold retreat lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in an elevated position high on the Cotswold escarpment, with fabulous panoramic views for over 50 miles. These luxury Cotswold rental properties are all finished to a very high standard, have elegant interiors and offer a unique homestay experience.

Set in a private rural location, originally Dryhill formed part of a Roman ‘Villa Rustica’ dating back to around 76 AD and our vaulted cellar made with Roman bricks is evidence of this ancient occupation. The fields in front of Dryhill feature ancient agricultural terraces believed to be for vines and these have now been replanted with Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir vines to make elegant sparkling wine.

Approaching Dryhill down our scenic drive, you will follow in the footsteps of the celebrated Gloucestershire poet, Ivor Gurney, who once lived at Dryhill. In 1917, he describes his time here:

The loveliest place almost that ever was,
The widest sweep beauty before one”.

Feel free to browse his poetry, available from our library.

As part of our rewilding efforts, we have spent 30 years planting over 2000 trees and creating wildflower meadows to support our bees: now you can enjoy Dryhill honey delivered to your breakfast table!

The wildlife is prospering too, with many different species of owl, several pairs of resident nesting buzzards and red kites together with routine visits from deer, foxes and badgers who confidently come into your garden. A rare breed of “Belted Galloway” cattle roam in the adjacent fields.

For those wishing to explore the countryside, we are happy to share our local knowledge: Dryhill sits at the heart of the Cotswolds and you can enjoy our unique collection of self-drive tours that feature classic wool villages, ancient castles, classic gardens, great dog walks, top-notch restaurants and hidden pubs.

One of our nearest towns is Cheltenham Spa, which is famed for The Gold Cup racing festival, The Cheltenham Jazz Festival and The Cheltenham Literary Festival.

Dryhill enjoys truly stunning views and provides a serene environment surrounded by nature to allow you to enjoy your special family reunion, significant birthday celebration or well-earned holiday. With advanced notice, we can arrange pizza evenings, cocktail classes, wine tastings, yoga activities, reflexology sessions and vineyard tours. For those in search of peace and tranquillity, why not sit and soak in our hot tub whilst watching a “big sky” sunset for which Dryhill is renowned.

Being in the tranquil countryside does not mean that you will miss out on your fix of technology: we offer high-speed internet for streaming and a house server to access great music.

We look forward to welcoming you to your new home in the Cotswolds!
